FAQS

  • "Ceremonial Grade Cacao is a term commonly used to describe cacao of particularly high quality — pure, unadulterated and ethically sourced. The cacao typically comes from small family farms where cultivation takes place with respect for nature and its cycles. Anãra Cacao Solids is ceremonial grade cacao and can therefore be used traditionally in ceremonial contexts. It can also be enjoyed simply — as a deep, warm cup of cacao in its purest form. The choice is yours."

  • Ceremonial cacao refers to cacao traditionally used in rituals and ceremonial contexts. In Mesoamerica, the Maya and Aztecs used cacao as a culturally and spiritually significant plant. Traditionally, Criollo beans have been preferred in these contexts due to their complex and refined flavour profile.

  • A traditional ceremonial serving is typically 30–40 g of cacao per cup. Ceremonial cacao is often consumed slowly and with intention — as a practice of stillness, presence and reflection. Preparation varies according to personal preferences and tradition

  • Our cacao is best stored dry, dark and cool. Avoid direct sunlight and moisture to preserve quality and flavour.
