Origin & quality

Our cacao solids are made from Ecuadorian Arriba Nacional beans from Cafiesa.

Single Origin — Ecuador. The cacao comes from one of the world's recognized fine aromatic cacao varieties and is selected for its natural depth, elegance and complex flavour profile.

The cacao is often referred to as ceremonial grade and is traditionally used in ceremonial contexts. No GMOs. No additives. The cacao is ethically sourced in collaboration with small farmers and cooperatives, all certified organic and committed to responsible cultivation and harvesting.

Usage

This cacao paste has a rich, rounded aroma and a clean, deep flavour. This cacao is suitable for hot drinks, cooking and handcrafted chocolate. Suitable for both simple cacao preparations and more advanced chocolate recipes — or for making chocolate from scratch with cacao in its purest form.

Origin & quality Our cacao beans come from Hacienda El Castillo in the Cerecita valley, west of Guayaquil in Ecuador.

Single Origin — Ecuador. The area's dry climate, influenced by ocean air from the Pacific, creates stable conditions for cacao cultivation. Advanced irrigation systems enable farming in the valley and contribute to the beans' clean and consistent quality. The plantation is surrounded by and integrated with rich, local flora. Fruit trees such as mango, papaya, banana and citrus grow side by side with the cacao and help shape the beans' natural flavour profile. The surrounding protected forest further contributes to the cacao's distinctive character and depth. Hacienda El Castillo operates exclusively according to organic principles and supports both the local community and eco-tourism as part of its long-term practice.

This cacao was awarded the Ecuador Cacao Award 2024 – "Pepa de Oro".

Usage

Anãra Cacao Beans are raw and unprocessed and suitable for further processing. They can be crushed into cacao nibs, finely ground into cacao powder or used directly in cooking. The beans can also be enjoyed as they are — raw and simple — a use with roots in cacao's early, traditional consumption.
